Marek PIOTROWSKI
Research Associate Professor
Research Field
Nanomaterials, nanocrystal superlattices, nanocrystal self-assembly
Dr. Marek Piotrowski holds the position of Associate Professor within the Interdisciplinary Materials and Devices (IMD) Research Centre, led by Prof. Wang Zhiming, at the Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Sciences (IFFS) at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu. His area of expertise revolves around the development of complex self-assembled nanostructures based on non-close-packed nanocrystal arrays and hybrid bio-nanocrystal superlattices for innovative Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy biosensing technologies. His international academic and research career at leading institutions worldwide, including the National University of Singapore, International Nanotechnology Laboratory, and Warsaw University of Technology, is marked by numerous noteworthy achievements. He has successfully led two research projects as Principal Investigator, including a Polish National Science Centre Grant and a Poland Enterprise Centre Project. Three other projects, including the RFIS National Natural Science Foundation of China Project, the Polish-Norwegian Research Programme Grant, and the Warsaw University of Technology Grant, have served as funding sources for his research. Dr. Marek Piotrowski's research output is underscored by the publication of 21 peer-reviewed papers. His publications have been cited over 500 times, reflecting an H-index of 13. He has secured two patents and earned six scientific prizes and awards, including the Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences Award for his Ph.D. thesis and a Fellowship for the Best Ph.D. Students, the Foundation for Polish Science Fellowship, the Poland Enterprise Centre Fellowship, and the Polish Chemical Society Award for the best master's thesis. Additionally, Dr. Marek Piotrowski has presented his research findings at numerous prestigious international conferences and has served as a member of the organizing committee and as a webmaster for two of them.
