Yang GAO
Research Associate Professor
Research Field
Computational physical chemistry; Theoretical lanthanum/actinide molecular science; Superatomic clusters; Surface/interface reactivity
Dr. Gao Yang is a associate research professor and master's supervisor. He has long been engaged in fundamental research in "computational physics/chemistry" and is adept at applying and developing first-principles computational methods, including configuration interaction, coupled cluster methods, density functional theory, and molecular dynamics. He is dedicated to developing new quantum chemical methods and applying them to complex intermolecular interactions such as cluster structures, reactivity, and lanthanide/actinide molecular science.
Dr. Gao Yang has received numerous honors, including the Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Award in Jilin Province, Outstanding Graduate of Jilin University, Advanced Worker of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and the National Innovative Talents International Cooperation Award. He has undertaken various research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NFSC) Youth Project, Postdoctoral General Financial Grant, Canada's New Frontiers Research Fund (NFRF), and collaborative projects with the NHC Key Laboratory of Nuclear Technology Medical Transformation. He has established effective long-term collaborations with institutions such as TRIUMF (Canada's National Particle Accelerator Centre), the Canadian Advanced Research Computing Centre, and the Canadian Light Source National Laboratory. Dr. Gao Yang has published over 60 papers in international journals to date.
We are always looking to recruit self-driven and talented undergraduate, master, Ph.D. and Post-doc. If you are interested in the research of our group then please feel free to contact us.
